Bee Smart Robbing Screen

The Bee Smart Robbing Screen helps protect colonies during robbing conditions by covering the main hive entrance with a vented panel while redirecting colony traffic to two alternate entrances located 3 inches above the standard entrance.

Robbing bees are attracted to the scent coming from the vented lower entrance, while the home colony uses a separate upper entrance that is easier to defend. Only one upper entrance should be open at a time.

Installation & Use Instructions
Installation is best done at night or early morning when most bees are inside the hive.
Install the robbing screen over the existing entrance.
To use, open one of the swinging doors by gently lifting it and rotating it to the fully open position.
If robbers find their way into the active entrance, switch to the opposite door at night so bees can re-orient without confusion.
To use the robbing screen as a moving screen, close both swinging doors.
By morning, the colony will naturally re-orient to the newly opened entrance.
