These unassembled pine frames with a wedged top bar are designed specifically for installing 100% pure beeswax foundation. The removable wedge in the top bar allows beekeepers to secure wax foundation firmly by tacking the wedge back into place, creating a tight, reliable hold.

Once the wedge is removed, the wax foundation is positioned in the frame and the wedge piece is then nailed or tacked tightly against the foundation, locking it in place. This traditional design is preferred by beekeepers who use natural wax foundation and want precise control over frame assembly.

Constructed from quality pine, these frames are strong, lightweight, and suitable for brood or honey use when properly assembled and reinforced.
